WHAT IS “WHERE’S OUR MONEY?”
We see the financial crisis, and the unprecedented public bailout of the banking system, as a singular opportunity to inject the spirit and practice of democracy into our financial system.
“Where’s Our Money” will focus on how we got here, who’s responsible, where we go from here, and how we get there.
We’ll scrutinize the reform agenda, as well as examining proposals that are being ignored inside the Beltway.
Over the past decade, we’ve seen up close the negative impact of the intense financial pressure on traditional media. Too much of the financial press played the role of cheerleader for the titans of business, rather than as a watchdog to ferret out irresponsible behavior, or to raise questions about whether an economy based on finance is sustainable. We’ve also seen the tremendous explosion of sources of information on the Internet. We’ll help readers sift through the avalanches of information, opinions and documents, highlighting those that can illuminate where we’ve been and where and where we’re headed.
